Thank you for new funding from Olympia EA!

The Olympia Education Association -- one of NEWS' long-time members -- has pledged an additional $5,000 to further support our efforts to fight the State's appeal of our victory in the McCleary school funding case.

"We are approaching the finish line and I want to make sure we have the resources we need to get across and so do the teachers of Olympia," said OEA President David Johnston. "I would urge all locals to up and re-up. This legal challenge is the core of what we have all been fighting for."

NEWS President Mike Blair expressed his thanks to OEA, saying, "Your contribution represents a wise investment in the future of your members and the students, schools and community you serve."

NEWS has sent a letter to all non-member school districts across Washington asking them to step up, join us and make a financial contribution to support our defense against the State's appeal of the NEWS court ruling. Help us be successful in earning their support by following up with your district's superintendent and/or School Board president and encouraging them to respond.

If they have questions or need additional information, ask them to contact us at 253-765-7043.
